LIGHT:
Your ZZ will accommodate a broad spectrum of light conditions, however he does not like harsh direct sunlight. He will tolerate low light levels making him a perfect addition to a corner shelf or bedside table.
The ZZ can improve both the quality of air in an indoor space and the health of humans and animals within the home. He can remove carcinogens, such as Benzene, from your living areas!
WATER:
Take care with watering as the Zanzibar does not like to be over watered. This can cause the stems and rhizomes to rot. They are drought tolerant so let the soil completely dry out before watering again. Water less during the cooler months and fertilize in the warmer months to promote new growth.
]]>LIGHT:
She will be her happiest in a bright well lit spot. But be careful as her leaves are sensitive, so don't leave her exposed directly to the sunlight.
Long spaces between leaves are caused by too little light. Pinch off leggy stems and move her to a brighter spot. Leaves will also lose their variegation if they don't get enough light. The trailing stems with striking pink make her a perfect choice for a hanging basket in a visual spot, but it's also stunning when allowed to spread across a tabletop or other surface.
WATER:
Water when the potting mix starts to dry out. But these plants do best in relatively moist soil.
The watering schedule will vary depending upon the temperature and lighting that she will receive. Make sure that the top of her soil is dry before giving a moderate watering.
]]>LIGHT:
While Pothos like a wide variety of light conditions, they do not do well in direct sunlight. The yellow variegation's of the plant become more pronounced when exposed to greater amounts of light. Bright in-direct light would be best for your Pothos plant. Growth will be slow if you choose a very dark spot, this will also create sparse "vines" with leaves quite far apart. Let her hang from a high shelve or give her something to trail along.
WATER:
Water your Pothos regularly during the growing seasons and a lot less in Winter. She won't mind being under watered. Over watering needs to be avoided and the soil should never be soggy or wet. Allow the top half of her soil to dry out between watering. Golden Pothos have a shallow root system which means that less is more when watering as less water is needed to saturate the soil down to the lowest roots.
]]>LIGHT:
Chain of Hearts love light. A bright sunny room is perfect with no direct sun. A west window is fine but just make sure it isn't up against the hot glass. Good air flow is important too!
WATER:
Less is more when it comes to watering. So, make sure you allow her soil to dry out between watering. The vine must not be kept too wet or it is prone to rot. Inserting your finger into the soil is a good way to check the moisture level. She goes dormant in winter, so watering should be even less frequent. She appreciates a liquid fertilizer being applied once every two weeks in the spring and summer to promote growth and some flowering.
Cut back stems for new growth.
]]>LIGHT:
She will tolerate low light for quite a long time but a well lit room, with no direct sunlight is best. She will let you know if she isn't getting the right amount of light. Too much will cause her leaves to go yellow and too little will result in long stems and small leaves. Let her hang from a high shelve or give her something to trail along.
WATER:
Water well and then allow the top 30% of the soil to dry out before watering again. Inserting your finger into the soil is a good way to check the moisture level. The soil should never be soggy or wet. Never let her base sit in water. Water less during the cooler months and fertilize in the warmer months to promote new growth.
Increase humidity during the summer months by misting.
]]>LIGHT:
The String of Fishhooks like to live in a bright and well lit spot, near a south or west facing window. Just be careful not to position too close to the hot glass or prolonged exposure to the hot summer sun to ensure they don't burn. Those leaves & stems are full of water so all parts of the plants requires light, especially the base.
WATER:
Allow to the soil to fully dry out between watering. Over-watering increases the risk of root problems so make sure you don't kill her with kindness! Inserting your finger into the soil is a good way to check the moisture level.
Never let her sit in water or allow the soil to get soggy. Senecio plants are adapted to dry arid conditions so there is no need to increase humidity by misting.
]]>LIGHT:
She needs strong natural light to grow successfully. Filtered direct morning sunlight is ok, just be sure to keep it away from hot glass or prolonged exposure to hot summer sun because it’ll burn. The base of the pearls need light too, so ensure it is positioned not too high.
Not enough light + too much water = bye bye sweet succulent.
WATER:
Allow to the soil to fully dry out between watering. Over-watering increases the risk of root problems so make sure you don't kill her with kindness! Only small amounts of water at at time, 1-2 tablespoons should be fine.
Never let her sit in water or allow the soil to get soggy. Make sure to empty out the plant trays after you're done watering. Senecio plants are adapted to dry arid conditions so there is no need to increase humidity by misting
